Production Music Usage for Sports – Everything You Need to Know
Stephanie Scarpulla is MLB Network and NHL Network’s Director of Music & Media Clearances. Stephanie oversees the creative, clearance and licensing of all music, footage, image and IP for both network’s 24/7 programming. As MLB & NHL Network’s Music Supervisor, she is responsible for creating sync opportunities for various programming, promos and brand campaigns, including special event coverage of Opening Day, MLB First-Year Player Draft, All-Star Game and the World Series. Stephanie’s work on MLB Tonight helped garner her three Sports Emmy Awards. She has been with MLB Network since its record-setting launch in 50 million homes in 2009.
Prior to MLB Network, Stephanie worked as the Director of Licensing at TVT Music Publishing & TVT Records, where she was responsible for negotiating synchronization, master and sample licensing deals for the repertoire of such artists as Lil Jon and Pitbull and producer Scott Storch.
Her career in licensing began at Diamond Time, a boutique copyright clearance company. There she worked on various projects including Inside the Actors Studio and live tour licensing for acts like Phish and The Allman Brothers Band.
Stephanie is a graduate of Syracuse University.
