Art Phillips is a multi-award winning composer, including two Emmy’s, gold & platinum RIAA record awards, plus a multitude of screen music awards. His credits span across feature films, documentary, advertising and television series including Neighbours, Missing Persons Unit, Outback House, Pirate Islands - The Lost Treasure of Fiji, Catalyst, The Flying Vet, Santa Barbara, The Secret Lives of Sleepwalkers, Dead Tired, Made in China, Fatal Bond, Signal One, Bullet Down Under and Sher Mountain Mystery.
Phillips has composed and produced over 65 production music albums for numerous multi-national companies, including Sonoton, FirstCom Music, 5Alarm Music, Universal Production Music, Bruton, Chappell Recorded Music Library, One Music, Groovers Music Library, Access Music, EVO, as well as his own production music label,101 Music Pty Ltd®, with 44 album releases in the 101 music catalogue, where Art is composer of 26 of these album releases.

Art was honored this month by the ‘Global Music Awards’ for his production music album ‘Just You & I’ (101M043) for 101 Music Pty Ltd® - composed, produced and performed by Art Phillips (guitars and other instruments).
In 2018, Phillips received a ‘Global Music Award’ for his album ‘Italian Holiday’ (101M032), also from his production music catalogue, and was also nominated by the Production Music Association in the ‘Mark Awards’ for ‘Best Jazz Artist’ for the same album.
Art Phillips is the longest standing President of the ‘Australian Guild of Screen Composers’ (AGSC) 2001 ~ 2008, and was Vice President from 1992 ~ 2000.
He is Deputy Chair of the Academic Board of ‘The Australian Institute of Music’ (AIM), and is a music industry councillor for ‘Music Australia’, formerly known as ‘The Music Council of Australia’, representing ‘Music in Film and Television’ (2005 ~ current).
In 2016, he was honored with a ‘Fellowship Award’ from the ‘Universal Business School Sydney’, for recognition of his ‘Distinguished Contributions to Entrepreneurship in Australia’. He recently was bestowed the title ‘Adjunct Professor’ for his extensive work in academia as aligned to the profile of his prolific career in the music industry as a music composer, producer, arranger, orchestrator and business entrepreneur.
Phillips lectures on the occasional basis at the ‘Universal Business School of Sydney’ (UBSS), and has written a series of ‘Case Studies for their Master’s Degree’, and is a member of their ‘Academic Board’ as well as their ‘Course Advisory Committee’.
Art is also Chair of the Course Advisory Committee for ‘Queen Anne School of Management’ (QASM), Sydney Australia.
He is also responsible for writing and delivering the ‘Master of Music and Media’ subjects: ‘Music & Moving Image’, ‘Screen Music Analysis’ and ‘Music & Media’, for ‘Excelsia College’ (Wesley Institute Australia).
Phillips has passed on his knowledge and expertise to countless students at universities, institutions and associations across Australia and abroad, and is an active and valued member of the global music community.
He holds his ‘Master of Music Studies’, Queensland Conservatorium of Music / Griffith University (1999).
