Production music is entering yet another era of tremendous opportunity and challenge. I believe that, in a world of ever-expanding global content, our industry can continue to grow from strength to strength if we remain smart, agile, and committed to producing exceptional, human-made music.
The PMA plays a vital role in fostering community, networking, education, and collaboration among publishers and composers. By working together to address shared challenges, embracing innovation responsibly, and demonstrating the value of production music, I believe our industry has an incredibly bright future. I believe our industry is becoming increasingly global, and I want the PMA to continue building partnerships, relationships and opportunities around the world.
When I started my first catalog 17 years ago, the PMA was an invaluable resource to me. I hope it will continue to inspire, educate, and support the next generation of publishers and composers while delivering real value to every member.
I have served on the PMC International Committee and Events Committee for many years, helping strengthen our global production music community. I am proud of the international conference PMC has become and look forward to continuing to build its profile. I am also committed to refining the Mark Awards and ensuring the PMA continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of our members.
I was elected to the PMA Board in 2022 and was honored to be elected Vice Chair earlier this year. Throughout my time on the Board, I have worked to build consensus, strengthen our organization, and help position the PMA for the future.
I love our industry and would be honored to continue serving the PMA and its members in the years ahead.
I respectfully ask for your vote for the PMA Board. Thank you for your support.

I am honored to put my name forward for re-election to the PMA Board of Directors, and to continue serving as Secretary.
I have been part of this organization for well over a decade — long enough to remember attending quarterly meetings at the Sportsmen's Lodge and watching the room fill up a little more each time. That growth was not accidental. It reflected a real and vibrant community, and it inspired me to approach PMA leadership with an idea: that this community was ready for a dedicated conference. When asked if I'd chair that committee, I said yes without hesitation. What we built together became the Production Music Conference — now the largest production music conference in the world. Being part of that from the beginning remains one of my proudest contributions to this industry.
My career has spanned nearly every corner of this industry — from composing for film and television (The King of Queens, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny) to publishing, to my current work as a music supervisor (I Think You Should Leave/Netflix, The Vow: Part II/HBO, The Man Will Burn/HBO). Having lived on multiple sides of the music equation, I bring a perspective to this board that is both broad and deeply grounded.
I've served on the PMA Board for over seven years, including my current term as Secretary, and I'm seeking re-election at a moment that calls for continuity and steady leadership. Our industry faces real challenges in a rapidly changing technological landscape, and I've always believed that community — and the ideas it generates — is our greatest resource in meeting them.
My commitment to the PMA is long-standing and genuine. I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue serving, and to help shape what comes next.

I helped start the PMA in 1997 as one of its founding members and served as its Vice Chair from 2017 to 2025. I've spent nearly three decades in this industry as a co-founder of VideoHelper and an active composer.
Our business has changed more in the last five years than in the twenty before it. Globalization, the explosion in platforms, catalog consolidation, shifting royalty structures, and AI are reshaping how music gets made, how libraries compete, and what production music is worth. The PMA has to make sure our community is a driving force in determining what our future looks like.
As a composer, publisher, and independent company owner, I understand the challenges we face at every stage, from creation to distribution to collection. Working alongside so many of you, I've helped make sure our members are paid what they're owed, protected against predatory business models, and pushed the PROs toward fair treatment.
I'm running to stand up for our people and our music, and to push back against the interests that would devalue who we are and what we create. That means:
*Protecting composers and publishers as AI and ever-larger media and tech companies reshape the field
*Standing behind human authorship
*Strengthening the association's voice on royalties, metadata, and any issue that affects the value of our work
*Giving our members the knowledge to make informed decisions
*Working together to build a stronger future for production music
I love this business. I love the people in it. And I love bringing everyone together to build a future where we all thrive.
I'd be grateful for your continued support

Joseph Saba is a composer, producer, and co-founder of VideoHelper, one of the most widely used production-music catalogs in television, film, and streaming media.
Since the early 1990s, his work has been heard across thousands of broadcast, cable, and digital programs worldwide, including network news, live sports, entertainment, documentaries, trailers, and major international events. His music has underscored the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl, NBA Championships, global breaking news, and prime-time series across ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, HBO, Netflix, BBC, and numerous international networks. He has composed theme and identity music for national programming, original scores for two Lionsgate feature films, and worked on several independent artist and album projects.
Saba blends orchestral writing, contemporary production, and narrative sound design to create emotionally driven music that deepens and shapes the storytelling experience. For more than two decades, he has worked closely with editors, mixers, music directors, and creative teams, helping shape how production music functions and integrates within high-visibility media environments. His background includes performing in several bands, including an appearance on MTV's 120 Minutes as keyboardist for Fabulon (Chrysalis/EMI). A personal favorite moment: the Saturday Night Live band performing his Suze Orman Show theme.
Outside of his composing work, Saba is a founder and board member of the Production Music Association, working to support composer education, strengthen professional community, and champion the recognition and fair valuation of production music worldwide.
His work has received eight PMA Mark Awards and multiple Production Music Awards across orchestral, rock, and media categories. He continues to compose actively while supporting emerging creators and contributing to the ongoing evolution of the production music field.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
I've spent fifteen years on this board because I believe in what the PMA stands for: a fair, sustainable future for the people who write and publish production music. I'm not done yet.
As a composer and publisher myself, owner and founder of Spot On and other catalogs, I know these issues from the inside, not just from a boardroom seat. I've scored over 150 films and shows, more than 40 for HBO, and I've spent decades watching how quickly this industry can shift under us. That's exactly why representation matters here.
During my time as Chairman of the Performing Rights Committee, I've advocated for fair payments and helped composers and publishers understand the real value of their copyrights and how to protect it. That work hasn't gotten easier. New threats show up daily, and they make this work more urgent than ever.
AI is the clearest example. It can be a tool that expands what we're capable of, or a threat to the very rights we've spent decades establishing. I've been deeply engaged in this conversation, including work helping our community separate responsible innovation from exploitation. I want to keep bringing that work to this board, so our members have a real voice in shaping the standards, not just reacting to them after the fact.
Publisher and composer rights aren't an abstraction to me. They're the foundation this whole industry rests on. I've spent my career, and much of my volunteer time, defending that foundation, and I want to keep doing it alongside all of you.
I'd be honored to earn your vote for another term.

Joel Goodman is an Emmy-winning composer and music business entrepreneur with a long career in film, television, commercial recording, and production music. His work includes scores for more than 150 films and television programs, including five Academy Award nominations, over 30 Emmy Awards, and more than 40 Emmy nominations.
Joel founded and owns several production music catalogs, including Icon, Spot On, Red Matter, and Storyteller. Earlier in his career, he co-founded MusicBox, which grew to administer roughly 24,000 songs before its acquisition by Anthem Entertainment.
A dedicated advocate for composer and publisher rights, Joel has served on the PMA Board of Directors for fifteen years. He is currently focused on helping the production music community navigate the rise of AI, working to ensure it strengthens rather than undermines the value of human creativity and rights.
His widely praised debut album, An Exquisite Moment, is a deeply personal, improvisation-rich project featuring collaborations with leading voices in contemporary jazz. Always looking to give back to his community, Joel conducts master classes and has been composer-in-residence in the United States and Europe. A native New Yorker, Joel splits his time between Los Angeles and France, and anywhere he can enjoy the great outdoors.

It has been a privilege to serve on the PMA Board since 2018, initially representing BMG Production Music and, since 2022, as an independent following the founding of True Road Music. Throughout that time, I have genuinely valued the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that plays such an important role in representing, advocating for and strengthening our production music community.
This year marks my 33rd year in the production music industry, having started my career at just 18. That journey has taken me from Australia to the UK and across the global music publishing landscape, including senior leadership roles with Universal Production Music in Australia and the UK, and ultimately as Global Managing Director of BMG Production Music.
Our industry continues to evolve rapidly. Advances in technology, the emergence of AI, changing client expectations and an increasingly global marketplace present both exciting opportunities and complex challenges. I believe the PMA has an essential role to play in ensuring our industry remains innovative, collaborative and well represented, while protecting the value of our music, composers and businesses.
Today, through True Road Music, I consult to dozens of independent production music labels and publishers around the world. This gives me a broad and current perspective on the issues facing businesses of all sizes and, I believe, complements my experience leading major international companies.
If re-elected, I would be honoured to continue serving alongside my fellow Board members. I remain passionate about this industry and committed to contributing my experience, global perspective and collaborative approach to help ensure the PMA continues to thrive for the benefit of all its members.

Our industry is facing significant challenges. Composers and publishers are creating and licensing their works in an environment that is constantly evolving. The market’s demand for global licensing, rapid internationalization, the ongoing shift from linear TV to fragmented streaming platforms, and the rise of AI are reshaping our ecosystem.
Are all uses permitted - and are they properly remunerated? Is someone training an AI model on my life’s creative work and effectively making me obsolete?
The PMA plays a very important role for the production music community. It helps ensure that the community is recognized, counters undesirable developments, and provides guidance in navigating these changes and identifying the right path forward.
I would like to contribute from a European perspective, so that through continuous exchange we always know where in the world effective answers to pressing questions are being developed.
We represent several US libraries in Europe and, in turn, are represented in the US by Slipstream/Megatrax and Warner.

At the outset of my time on the PMA board I first wanted to know "what does the PMA do?" The PMA mission statement uses words like advocacy, rights and education--but the PMA can be more complex than that. The PMA history page reads that when formed the founders needed to "overcome their professional differences." It's complicated--majors, Indies, commercial, underscore, trailer libraries. Needs from one publisher to another vary greatly.
But any composer or publisher thinking AI spells doom would do well to look back to the late 90s when a PRO proposed a cap on production music, or the early 2000's when non-exclusive libraries disrupted with retitling, or 2017 when a broadcast network threatened to go "all gratis" in their agreements. Fortunately, pushback during each of those periods by the PMA came swiftly and had no small effect.
The PMA board has felt right to me from my first meetings with its members nearly ten years ago. I have been fortunate to have had a career in the music industry as a musician, composer and later, publisher. I learned early on that a certain amount of fight is required. Fights with jazz club owners for agreed upon band pay might have been a fitting training ground for what the future would bring as a publisher in the music industry as it exists now. I am extremely grateful to have worked closely with my fellow board members, meeting with them every few months to discuss what work, what lobbying and yes what fight comes next. It has been a privilege to know and work with these kindred spirits and fighters and I seek election as a means to carry on the work which is clearly essential to what we all do and how we all thrive, both creatively and financially.

I have always been an advocate for the rights and preservation of Publishers and Writers in the music industry. Raising the bar on production, delivery and functionality combined with unique human creativity. Bridging the “Artist’s” world with the “Production Music “ world has been a focus. Spending my career in numerous worlds as a publisher, producer, educator, composer and performer helps me relate to every aspect of our industry. Still an educator at heart I spend a huge amount of time at every PMC helping anyone I can as so many have done for me. Building knowledge, sharing experience and the passion we all have for music. The intent being to help each other, preserve and build the Production Music Industry so we can all continue doing what we love…oh yeah, and get paid after the gig!

I've spent my career championing the value of production music, from leading Anthem Production Music Group and 5 Alarm Music to my current role as Global Managing Director of Slipstream Music. There, I oversee global strategy across a catalog built through the consolidation of some of our industry's most storied libraries. That vantage point has shown me firsthand how much stronger our community is when publishers, composers, and licensing partners work together rather than in silos.
I'm running for the PMA board because I want to help build on that spirit of collaboration at an industry level. As AI-generated music floods the market, I believe our industry's greatest asset is what it's always been: human-made music's unmatched ability to elicit real emotion and tell real stories. Championing that has always mattered to me, and it's a cause I'd welcome the chance to help the PMA lead on. Production music is often undervalued relative to its impact, and I believe the PMA is uniquely positioned to change that — through advocacy, education, and a stronger collective voice for our members. I'd be honored to bring my experience in catalog integration, rights management, and partnership-building to that work, and to help shape a future that serves composers, publishers, and creators alike.

JD Adams has been involved in music and entertainment for most of his life, beginning his career as a session vocalist for companies like Nickelodeon, Universal, and Angel Song Productions. He earned his B.A. in Music Industry Studies from California State University Northridge, where he received a NARAS Grammy Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Music Industry. He previously worked in the famed Capitol Records Tower with EMI in Film & Television Music, as well as the historic Warner Bros. studio lot with Warner Bros. Television Music.
JD is currently Global Managing Director of Slipstream Music, a leading sync and production music licensing platform. Slipstream has grown rapidly by acquiring storied catalogs, including Anthem Entertainment's production music businesses (Jingle Punks, 5 Alarm Music, Cavendish Music) and, more recently, Megatrax. Together, these deals have built a library of more than 1.3 million tracks, among the largest collections of human-composed music available for licensing worldwide.
JD oversees Slipstream's global strategy, works directly with its sub-publishing and catalog partners, and leads production, SSM Records, and global creative services, drawing on his background in publishing administration, sync licensing, and rights management to maximize value for the artists and catalogs Slipstream represents.
JD built his executive career leading Anthem Production Music Group and 5 Alarm Music — catalogs now part of Slipstream, where he continues to lead them today.

I would be honored to serve on the PMA Board. As an independent label owner, producer, and composer, I've built my career from the ground up in this industry, and I'd like to put that experience to work for the wider community, helping represent the honest interests of the industry and everyone who is part of it.
From this position, I'd especially like to help promote the production music industry across the Balkan region, connecting local composers and authors more closely with the global PMA community, and helping educate local markets and PRO organizations on why investing in every part of our industry matters. I'd also like to work on strengthening the ties between European and American production music, sharing what works on each side and closing the gaps that remain between them.
Another area I care deeply about, especially as technology continues to reshape our industry, is protecting and nurturing human creativity. I believe it's important to keep reminding audiences and clients alike, across every channel we communicate through, of the value that music made by real people brings and why that matters more, not less, in the age of AI.
I don't take this application lightly. Serving on the Board means representing not just where I come from, but independent labels and composers everywhere who may not always have a seat at the table, and I'd approach that responsibility with humility, listening as much as contributing. Thank you for considering my application.

Production music has given me a tremendously rewarding and varied career. Over the past 15+ years, I've been fortunate to work across all aspects of publishing: sync licensing, royalties (composition and label), digital platforms, metadata, and, more recently, ethical AI licensing. Every new challenge has reinforced one belief: our industry is strongest when we work together to protect and champion the people who create music.
After spending five years in Audio Network's UK business, I moved to New York to lead the company's licensing activities, working with customers, CMOs, DSPs and rights holders globally. That experience has given me a broad perspective on how different markets approach the same challenges, and the value of sharing those solutions across our increasingly international industry.
The PMA plays a vital role in bringing our industry together as we negotiate rapid technological and commercial change. Whether the conversation is about AI, evolving licensing models, multi-territory rights or the future of music rights administration, I believe our industry prospers most when we address challenges with curiosity, collaboration and a readiness to listen to different perspectives.
Alongside my career in music, I’m a founder and board member of a not-for-profit community sports organization, where I helped lead a governance overhaul during a period of growth. This reinforced for me that good governance starts with listening, building consensus and making decisions that serve the wider membership.
If elected to the PMA Board, I would bring a global perspective, hands-on industry experience, and a genuine passion for helping us remain a trusted voice for production music. Our industry has never stood still, and I believe our greatest strength is our ability to progress while remaining true to the creators whose work underpins everything we do. I'd be honored to help the PMA continue that work.
BIOGRAPHY
Nick Platt is Director of Strategic Licensing and Partnerships at Audio Network, where he leads the company's licensing strategy and partnerships across online platforms and international markets. With more than 15 years in production music, Nick has worked with publishers, composers, collection societies, technology partners and digital platforms around the world to develop licensing solutions which balance commercial opportunity with the protection of creators' rights. More recently, he has helped shape Audio Network's approach to ethical AI licensing, contributing to policies and frameworks created to support rights holders as new technologies emerge.
Nick is the founder of NY International FC, a community football club in New York City recognized by the United Nations' Football for the Goals Initiative, where he also serves on the board. Away from work, he is a husband and proud father of two, and believes the best communities, whether in music or sport, are built through collaboration, trust and a united sense of purpose.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The Production Music space is changing rapidly, and that's exactly why this is such an exciting time to be part of our industry. The choices we make now about AI, copyright, IP, and creator rights will define what is possible for the next generation of production music composers and publishers. I want to help make sure we get those choices right.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work across almost every facet of the PM industry: audio engineer, music consultant, composer, producer, publisher and executive leadership. That experience has given me a broad yet thorough perspective and a genuine appreciation for the people who make this industry work.
AI excites me when it's used as a creative partner, not a creative replacement. There's a world of difference between tools that help composers create better music and machine-learning models built on copyrighted works without permission. We should embrace innovation, but we should never confuse efficiency with authorship. Human creativity is the foundation of everything we do, and it deserves to be respected, protected, and fairly compensated.
If you know me, you know I'll always fight for composers, publishers, copyright, and intellectual property. I'm unapologetically Canadian, proudly collaborative, and passionate about building a production music community that's innovative, inclusive, and ready for whatever comes next.
I love this industry. I'd be honoured to bring that passion, along with fresh ideas, practical experience, and a collaborative mindset, to the PMA Board as we help shape the future of production music—together.
